My Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka , the pearl of the Indian Ocean ,welcomes  every visitor to the island with a smile and gracious gesture of greeting , and  with  the wish for a  long and happy life. Golden beaches washed  by a blue green sea, beautiful mountains speckled  with natural waterfalls, national parks with an amazing variety  of wildlife, ruins of an ancient civilization, native ayuvedic  spa’s that provide  total revitalization: this is Sri Lanka, the best tourist  destination in the region.
From the cool misty mountainous home of Sri Lanka’s famous tea gardens  down to the golden palm fringed beaches and brilliant blue seas, the island is  considered a tourist  paradise. Apart from sunny beaches Sri Lanka is known for its beautiful nature and wildlife reserves.

Sri Lanka  has  86 species of mammals of which 16 are indigenous to the island. From the 427 recorded species of birds 250 are resident and 26 are indigenous to the country. Some of the popular nature reserves are, Sinharaja forest,  Udawalawe Reserve, Yala National Park and the Wilpattu National Park. Majestic elephants can be found in almost all the nature reserves.



        Sri Lanka is girdled 1,600 km. of beautiful tropical beaches on its southern, western, eastern, and northern shores. A well-rostered rainfall pattern keeps half of the island’s beaches rain-free the year round.
Prime resort beaches stretch from beyond Waikkal to Negombo, Mount Lavinia, Wadduwa, Kalutara and Beruwela in the west and south-west, and to Bentota, Ahungalle, Hikkaduwa, Dikwella, Tangalle and Hambantota in the South. 
Whatever the location, the magic is everywhere. Sparkling surf and golden sands bathed in tropical sunshine and coral wonderlands jeweled with tropical fish. Many beach resorts, especially in the south and west, have superb leisure and recreational facilities and professional services for wind-surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, surfing, boating, jet-scooter and fun-tube riding and deep-sea fishing.
